Architecture Design Studio IV | Second year first semester
An art gallery located beside an ex-mining lake. Featured with an old dredge, it is currently open for public to explore. This project started with an inspiration from a site photograph. This design project is divided into two stages, the apparatus model and the art center design.

The intention of the project is to design an art gallery + workshop, inspired by the unique site at Kampar, Perak, Malaysia. It's located beside an ex-mining lake featured with an old steel dredge, currently opened for public to explore. This art center holds function for the local artists to present their art works. The design project is inspired by a photograph taken on the steel dredge's metal deck. The photograph shows a strong contrast between the nature and the man-made structure, directing this project towards a study of action and reaction.

The art center is designed to react naturally to the sunlight. Azimuth, Altitude and VSA of the sun were collected and used as a reference to design the building's space and facade.
